This photo was taken in 1919 by Alfred Martin Duggan-Cronin: "The rough body has the hollows in its surface filled in with scraps of dough and the surface is rubbed down by means of a stone or potsherd. The pot is then fired, the kiln being a hole in the sand, and the fuel desiccated dung. The strips of melon hanging on the branches of trees are being dried for future use."
