The Metsemegologolo project is supported under the African Digital Humanities (Afridig) programme, which is funded by a generous grant from the Andrew W Mellon Foundation and coordinated by the Wits Institute for Social and Economic Research (Wits University).
Under the Afridig programme, we form a consortium with the Five Hundred Year Archive and the Centre for Curating the Archive, both based at the University of Cape Town. All three projects are concerned with the persistently neglected archive of the deep southern African past.
